2. Thai coffee...
3. one of the clinics we set up
4. some of the girls in our team, at Coh Samed for debrief

Cambodia

Here is some pictures from Cambodia:

1: Visiting Dams family outside Phnom Penh. Here is two of her sisters (Tri and Da), her father, and me, eating delicious food. I went with a few other team members, and we really enjoyed their hospitality, the love the whole church showed us, and in general being in the countryside after three weeks in the city.

2: Happy new year! :-) We went to bed early, because we were all tired. We chose to imagine we were in China, and greated eachother happy new year at 11 pm. However, we managed to stay awake until midnight, and celebrated with whistles. Well, ALMOST awake... :-)

3: Siem Reap, we went to a concert with dr. Beat Richner, a swiss doctor that has built up 6 children's hospitals all over Cambodia, western quality and free for all kids, now covering 80% of all kids in the country. These hospitals have got international "prizes" for best results compared to cost. Still they are accused for too good quality for a poor country. 14% of all costs is covered by Khmer and Swiss governments, the rest has to come in by private donations. Dr. Richner is a great chello artist, and every Thursday and every Saturday he holds a concert for the locals and the tourists in Siem Reap, telling about the hospitals and asking for support and even for blood donations (right now there is a lot of kids with Dengue fever, that need blood transfusions). He once asked a foreign minister why he had to continue begging like this, why no government would like to support a success these hospitals actually are. The answer he got was "This is too dangerous to discuss, better play your chello..."

4: Crossing the border to Thailand. Two kids sleeping close to the bus stop :-)

We are now in Thailand, working with kids. Some of the kids have horrible stories. We have fun with them, teach them a little bit, and help them medically. I LOVE being here!!

Hope you all are doing good, facing a new year.
Lots of blesses!!

Enjoying the day with Grethe...

What is better than walking in God's beautiful nature, in sunshine with a good friend, with cocoa in the thermos and a song in your heart...?
